Cold Weather...Cold Hearts!!!

This blog is based on a true story!

I would like to share this incident. I left from work and on my way towards the train station found two of my close colleagues Pratibha and Dolly waiting. Wondering what they were doing as it was pouring. Just to my surprise I saw a man lying down with no movements. It was pouring real heavily and these two women were seeking for some help to pick this man up from bystander MEN!!

Birds of same feather flock together. I too join the brigade of Pratibha and Dolly! Coz we were women all slim and petite, it was pouring and it was difficult for us to pick this man as we didn’t know whether he was dead, had fainted, was stabbed or was alive or had some stroke. No clue as he wasn’t moving at all. Since he was lying on his stomach made it even more difficult for us 3 to find out what was wrong and to the worst he was lying at the turning at one of the most busiest station road where vehicles speed like crazy. Our concern was to move his body so that if he was alive he could be saved and couldn’t be hit by a speeding motorist that was the primary aim. To move him to a safe place and then call for aid but, it was like we three women yelling our lungs out and asking for men at the nukkad "please help us move this man, he could be alive, we can save his life”. No one! No one! It was like we looked fools, in such cold weather and heavy rain we weren’t concerned about ourselves. We were asking men to pick this man up as we couldn’t move leaving him there as if nothing had happened. Our hearts are still warm and beating not dead and stone hearted yet! Shopkeepers & bystanders all of them just looking at us. It was crazy. Then one old man said "I will help “but, he sure couldn’t move as he was really frail and pretty old.

GOD helps people who want to do well. Our office assistant Nagraj came and we all 3 were smiling until then, I was screeching my lungs out" arey koi haath lagao, koi ise uthao, kal aap bhi gir saktey ho". Our office assistant and this old man picked him up. Thankfully there wasn’t any wound or he wasn’t stabbed. We thought it was a stroke or he must have fainted. My concern was “is he alive?” He moved all soaked in rain and muck I was happy to see him alive, then he opened his eyes These two men then moved him to a safer corner. Seeing him alive we 3 women took a sigh of relief and thanked our office assistant and the old man. But, to our surprise this man was DRUNK!! This dog was DRUNK and had fallen!! Just outside a local deshi daru ki dukan-I guess its called country bar!! The moment he woke up he looked so dangerous!

Dolly was screeeeeeechn in her animated best form! "Sabby!! Look at him, he’s looking so dangerous!!" I felt like slapping him hard and saying “go home you dog!I missed my train!” He was indeed looking so horribly drunk and scarrrrry!! After sometime he stood and we left. Ummmmm, lemme be honest, we RAN as he started to behave wierdly, bizarrely but ofcourse not to our surprise!!
With mixed feelings I didn’t know if we were right or people who didn’t help were! And then when I look back the first thing that comes to my mind is my friend Dolly’s reaction once this man was up and about!! I do first is breaking into some laughter coz my friend’s expressions that were, were indeed hilarious!!

However I don’t regret helping him stand up coz he could be dead if someone ran over him. We didn’t know who he was? Where he was from? And who all were dependent on him! I am grateful to Almighty that he gave us 3 women the courage and strength to seek for help where MEN were just standing and looking at us in distress trying to help save some life. It’s really heart breaking to see people going so cold and MEN what can I say? I am not a feminist and precisely why this blog shouldn’t be taken as a biased one! I hope not to find anymore people fallen and if I do I will still continue doing the same HELP and SAVE!! So should you all!! MEN you all need to HELP WOMEN who are trying to help others! Please don’t stand as silent spectators and watch the game. Leave the scene if you don’t have the courage!!

Message for all:
"Don’t drink so much that you can’t protect yourself and if you wish desire or want to get drunk and pass out make sure you are at home!!!!!!!!!!!"

Which station is that ?
Which country bar is that ?
Do you still pass from there ?
Will you still help people who fall down on the street there ?
